Tasting Notes

Winemaker Tracey Reichow

My Classic Rutherford Cabernet, with each swirl, gorgeous aromas of plump black cherry and blackberry drift from the glass. Wafting notes of cedar and warm spice further invite a taste of this polished Cabernet. Fresh cherry and plum greet the palate, with refined acidity carrying a sweep of flavors through to the finish. A persistent and velvety ending reveals tiers of currant, toasted almond, and a fine dusting of cocoa, a luxe twist on the famed Rutherford ‘dust’. Expressive and classy on its own, this Cabernet really comes alive when paired with a meal.

The fruit was hand-selected and destemmed into small open-top fermenters. A limited saigneé was completed within the first 24 hours. Three times daily, fermentations were punched down by hand. Upon completion of alcoholic fermentation, each lot was pressed directly to barrel to complete the secondary fermentation.
